Fashion Accessories for 2012

As actresses strolled down the red carpet during the winter awards season, millions of women saw for the first time headbands styles that will be hot in headbands in 2013. As fashion designers like Jason Wu roll out new lines and fresh, bold looks hit the runways, it’s time for women worldwide to upgrade their wardrobes with a few accessories.

In jewelry, it’s all about bright color, especially the color pink. Dangly earrings feature stones in every shade of pink, from pink diamonds and sapphires to glass gems mimicking the same. Bracelets and necklaces are also large or layered and feature pink stones or other bright colors.

As well as shades of pink, this season’s jewelry brings the bling. Those dangly earrings feature long strands of cut stones. Circle, teardrop and floral shapes are most common. Stacks of bracelets and bangles are popular, as are designer cuffs in solid metal designs or delicately crafted wirework and fabulous gem settings. Of course, charm bracelets are growing in popularity as well. Fashioned to accommodate any woman’s interest and personal style, these accessories have jingled and jangled their way onto the fashion scene for good.

More wirework and layered designs of metal and polished stones can be found in this season’s necklaces. Silver, white and yellow gold and especially the pink hues of rose gold are key ingredients in necklaces and pendants from the most sought-after designers. For bolder designs, some layered necklaces feature darker wood or polished stones.

Hair accessories for 2012 feature feathers and flowers. As with this season’s jewelry, bold color is the primary trend. Pink, of course, is the queen of colors this year, but hair accessories in bright reds, blues and other jewel tones are also in supply.
